SERI supports visions for a One Planet Economy in Europe

SERI researchers Ines Omann and Christine Polzin were engaged as organisers and moderators in a Scenarios & Policy Analysis Workshop (Brussels, 8th -9th Sep 2010) for the One Planet Economy Network OPEN: EU project.

In the interactive workshop, roughly 45 participants from a wide range of institutions developed future scenarios which set out different pathways to a One Planet Economy in Europe by 2050. In the next stage, storylines for the scenarios will be developed, and a testing phase will be prepared for the scenario modelling and policy assessment tool EUREAPA, which is created for the One Planet Economy Network. The scenario functions in the tool will enable decision makers to answer questions about the effects of policy on environment, consumption, industry and trade, thus helping to formulate strategies for sustainable consumption and production in Europe and beyond.

The outcomes of the workshop can be downloaded here.
